The Masters of Darts Team up with MIB and Wilson Darts Promotions
Nottingham based The Masters of Darts (TMOD) have teamed up with MIB darts team which is managed by Davie Hanson and features Tony O’Shea, Darryl Fitton, Gary Robson, Bob Anderson and Ross Montgomery, which also includes MIB/Legends of the Oche MC and stage set of Paul Wilson of Wilson Darts Promotions along with guest pro players, MCs and callers throughout the tour.
TMOD are launching a UK tour of a brand new style of darts exhibition event entitled Challenge the Pro 2010 with their new brand of darts game and events ‘Charge the Bull’, the first of which is in Nottingham at the Cotgrave Miners club on the 16th January 2010.
Like a standard exhibition the event is all about fun and audience interaction/participation, but unlike standard exhibition events the professional players stake their appearance fee and have to defend it from the audience players making it much more interesting, engaging, entertaining and indeed a competitive live event, the nights events are rounded up with a winner takes all pro head to head match. The night will be a mix of their game Charge the Bull21 and 501; they are not attacking the standard game of 501, merely shaking things up a little and appealing to a mass market for the live events circuit and giving the audience and pro players something different to enjoy.
Their great success of their largest event the ‘Show Down’ Tournament featuring 8 pro players with Gary Anderson being crowned the winner against the runner up James Wade back in March 2009 to a capacity crowd of 800. The co founders Steve Mincher and Paul Allen took a step back from events after their last exhibition event Double Dutch in June 09 with Raymond Van Barneveld and Vincent Van Der Voort; they decided they wanted to do something different with darts events; they have designed and created the brand new darts game and brand of events entitled ‘Charge the Bull’, the game is based on the ever popular Around the Clock game but with a twist, a competitive and strategic format of scoring, making the game perfect for competitive and casual playing. It’s simple to learn and play but difficult to master. It appeals to all ages, non darts players and skilled darts players of all disciplines. With it they are launching a UK tour of ‘Challenge the Pro’; they also have plans to produce another Show Down Tournament in 2010 along with a Charge the Bull Tournament.
MIB Manager Davie Hanson said this week that “MIB are very Proud to be working with Steve Mincher and The Masters of Darts Team and looked forward to our other MIB Members Ross Montgomery & Former World Champion Bob Anderson also doing Exhibitions with Steve and his team in the near Future, It’s also very fitting that the New MIB Mc Paul Wilson will host the first night”.
