DFA November News

Posted on December 8th, 2009

Anthony Fleet heads to the UK shortly to participate at Lakeside. He will be Australia’s only representative competing this year, which is being played from Saturday January 2nd through to Sunday January 10th 2010 at the Lakeside Country Club in Frimley Green just outside London. Dartsbet has placed him at 150/1 to win the Lakeside tournament, which is sensational value, so if you want a punt on him get on board, and place your bets at www.dartsbet.com.au. Perhaps another world title is not beyond him after winning the World Pairs Title with Geoff Kime at the recently contested World Cup in the US in September. His first round match will not be easy as he is up against 2007 Champion England’s Martin Adams.

Dartsbet is a partnership between the DFA and Betezy, which offers our members the very best online prices and directly benefits Australian Darts. If you have not joined up, access the site through the DFA Website. Don’t forget, if you have friends that enjoy the odd bet on not only racing but darts, football, soccer, cricket, tennis and much more, have them join up with Dartsbet so the sport of darts can benefit through their betting activities.

(Thanks to Dartsbet, I was able to back the winner of the Melbourne Cup. Nice profit on that bet)

DartsE the online darts game that requires skill is up and running. I did report last time that Australia was lagging behind in terms of registrations, so I hope all of you have now registered and have been practising. There is big money ($100,000 USD) to be won here. The inaugural DartsE tournament started 30th of November 2009 and runs for a week until the 6th December 2009. All players will be graded on completion of this round. You can play an unlimited number of games. Then on the 8th of December 2009 through to the 14th of December 2009 the second round will be played and the prize poll of $100,000USD will to be shared between all participants. Again you can play an unlimited number of games.

Coming shortly after the completion of this event will be the first World DartsE Tournament with $1,000,000USD to be shared between all participants.

Get in there and have a go. If you have any questions or queries about our site or any other matters please do not hesitate in sending them an email to support@dartse.com

The 2009/2010 DFA Australian Darts Grand Prix is well and truly up and going. The Grand Prix currently consists of seven events giving all players the chance to compete for BDO Invitational Points. Hopefully another event will be added shortly when approved by the BDO. Every State was given the opportunity to host a Grand Prix Event in 2010, but not all were able to organise an event, but several states have indicated they will have an event in the 2010/2011 season.

2010 Australian Darts Grand Prix Dates set and confirmed so far are:

February 6th & 17th 2010 – West Coast Classic – Perth
April 3rd & 4th 2010 – Victorian Easter Open – Geelong
June 26th & 27th 2010 – Central Coast Australian Classic – Gosford
July 3rd & 4th 2010 – Australian Grand Masters – Canberra
July 24th 2010 – Pacific Masters – Gosford

Keep an eye out in the New Year for handouts and posters covering all of the 2010 Australian Darts Grand Prix.

The 2010 DFA Calendar of Ranked Events has been released. Not every event is included but the first six months is complete.

The DFA has introducing two new Championships in 2010. This is a major step forward for the DFA and will hopefully result in every player at every level the opportunity of representing at the highest level. This brings the number of Championships conducted annually to four:

Australian Junior Championships – January

Australian 25 and Under Championships – May

Australian senior Championships – July

Australian Graded Championships – November

Information on the Australian 25 and Under Championships will be released next week. Keep an eye on the DFA Website and State bodies for more details next week. The Championships will be played over six days with the format of the week being finalised six weeks before the Championships when all nominations are in. Singles, Doubles and Teams events will be conducted.
