DartsMad New Year Newsletter

Posted on January 18th, 2010

Happy new year to you darts fan. 2010 promises to be a great year of darts and it could also be a watershed year with Barry Hearn’s offer to buy the BDO. We’ll keep a close eye on that.

There’s much to tell you about in this newsletter so I’ll get straight to it and keep it brief. All the info you need is on the site as well.

PDC.tvBeat The DartsMad Tipster

We ran two comps, one for each World Championship, and many of you did indeed beat the DartsMad tipster. Results are below, well done to the winners who will be contacted separately.

Ladbrokes Tipster Comp

1st – Chris Harris (signed John Lowe book)
2nd – Aimee Jenna (free Fantasy League Darts entry)
3rd – Simon Guest (free Fantasy League Darts entry)

Lakeside Tipster Comp

1st – John Phillips (signed John Lowe book)
2nd – Alan Bell (free Fantasy League Darts entry)
3rd – Paul Alexander (free Fantasy League Darts entry)

Registration is now open for the Players Championship Finals which takes place at the end of the month.

Fantasy League Darts

We are almost at boiling point with just one event left. The current league table is on the left with Simon Shaw leading the way in the race to that £1000 prize. There’s no Barney at the Circus Tavern and this factor could make or break some of the teams at the top!

Whatever the outcome we hope you’ve all enjoyed playing this year in our first ever Fantasy League Darts competition. We still have lots of great prizes to dish out and we will soon be back with a bigger and better competition for the 2010 season.

2010 will see the introduction of BDO players for a truly unified Fantasy League Darts competition! The points system will be based on…

Unified World Darts Ranking

2010 sees the official launch of our Unified World Darts Ranking table. Combining PDC & BDO players for the first time ever, our system gives a unique view of just who are the world’s best players.

Our system rewards form players so expect plenty of movement. But can anybody get close to Phil Taylor at the top? Maybe if we made him throw with just two darts!

The UWDR has been updated following the two world championships and the full table is on the site now with the top 25 on the left. Dave Chisnall’s amazing run to the Lakeside final sees him leap into the top 10 with 3 other BDO stars – Tony O’Shea, Martin Adams & Scott Waites. Ted Hankey sits at unlucky 13th after recent disappointments.

What do you think of our rankings? Let us know.
