DETA IS A WORLD BEATER!
Hedman defeats legend Taylor in 13-dart finish.
It was the icing on the cake for darts fans packed into Rileys, Cowley, for the opening of a new Darts Zone. World champion Phil Taylor had been entertaining the crowd with a series of exhibition matches against local players when up stepped surprise late entrant Deta Hedman.
Taylor’s army of fans had been cheering him all night, but it was Deta – the BDO Lakeside World Championship semi-finalist – who raised the roof when she checked out in 13 darts!
Taylor and Deta are long-term buddies and enjoyed a huge laugh together.
She said: “These Darts Zones are great. What an atmosphere. Maybe more women will start playing with such nice facilities available.”
Rileys are introducing state-of-the-art Darts Zones in the majority of their 128 clubs nationwide which also boast top food and bar service in a family-friendly atmosphere.
