Reigning BDO World Champion and former Grand Slam winner Scott Waites became the first man to reach the 2013 William Hill Grand Slam of darts Quarter-Finals following his 10-6 victory over 2008 Lakeside Champion Mark Webster.

Grand Slam of DartsHe is joined by code-mate Tony O’Shea after The Silverback avenged his 2007 defeat in the World Darts Trophy to Andy Hamilton with a superb 10-7 win on the Wolverhampton Civic stage.

Robert Thornton booked his place in the last 8 as he edged out Mervyn King taking the match in style with a 161 finish whilst Ted Hankey pulled off an amazing comeback for the right to play Waites.

At 6-1 in front Whitlock looked to be cruising into the Quarters, before Hankey bullied him off the oche with a barrage of 140’s and every other tool in his bag of tricks before eventually holding his throw in the last leg decider.
