The eagerly awaited final will be played tonight as one player will be the first man to get his name on the Sid Waddell trophy. Fittingly then, the final we be contested by the best dart player ever Phil Taylor and a player that could well rule the world in years to come Michael van Gerwen.
This is a final that has all the makings of being up there with the best, Taylor has once again stood up to be counted, and his antics against Barney following their semi-final just adds more spice.
Comments from Taylor after the game suggests he may be disillusioned by the sport in general, which in my mind makes van Gerwen a favourite to beat The Power.
The young Dutchman must be on top form to win a first World Championship as Taylor hunts for a 16th.
