Redtooth Darts Amateur National Finals in Leeds

Amateur darts players will compete for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play a pub tournament final during the 2013 Ladbrokes World Darts Championship at London’s Alexandra Palace thanks to Redtooth Darts.

Phil TaylorThe Redtooth Darts National Final on Sunday 9 December will see 64 pub players from across the country whittled down to just two, with the pair playing their final match at Ally Pally on 23 December.

The winner of which will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to the World Cup of Darts in Hamburg, Germany in February 2013.

At the National Finals in Leeds, 15-time World Champion Phil Taylor will provide mentoring support to the best 16 players in the tournament, with each playing a leg of darts against “The Power” and receiving advice on their technique.

Former professional darts player Chris Mason is one of the 64 players set to appear at the National Finals after winning the first stage of the Redtooth Darts tournament.

Chris, who reached back-to-back semi-finals in the World Championships in 1999 and 2000, is using the event – described as the X-Factor of darts – to make a  return after nearly two years out of the sport.

The Redtooth Darts tournament, powered by Protégé Events, began in September and involved more than 270 pubs across the country.

Key times of activity:

  • 2pm – Redtooth Darts National Finals begin
  • 5-5:30pm – Top four players competing for place at PDC (approx times)
  • 6pm – Top two players confirmed (approx times)
  • 6-8pm – Top 16 players mentored by Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor (approx times)
