In-form DETA HEDMAN continued her winning ways with back-to-back victories in Poland over the weekend of 24/25th March.

On Saturday (24th) she successfully defended her Polish Open Women’s Singles title with a 4-1 victory over Tamara Barn, and on Sunday (25th) she enjoyed another excellent 4-1 scoreline in her win against Kristin Bomander in the final of the Police Open Women’s Singles.

In the final of the Polish Open Men’s Singles, TONY O’SHEA was a 5-4 winner against Sweden’s Johan Engstroen, and GARY ROBSON won the Men’s Singles in the Police Open with a 5-3 victory over Steve Douglas.

England’s STEPHEN BUNTING (Lancs) has been crowned 2012 Welsh Classic Men’s Singles Champion after a closely fought 5-4 final against Scotland’s Gary Stone (Renfrews) who made his Lakeside debut in January.

And it was reigning Lakeside Women’s World Champion ANASTASIA DOBROMYSLOVA (Ches) who took the Women’s Singles title in a 4-2 final against Karen Lawman (Yorks). For Anastasia the Singles title completed an impressive Welsh Classic hat-trick of Women’s Singles, Women’s Pairs (with Lorraine Farlam) and Mixed Pairs (with Martin Phillips) titles.

ALAN NORRIS (Ches) is the 2012 Welsh Masters Mens Singles Champion after winning 5-2 against Gary Stafford (Hamp) in the final, and LORRAINE FARLAM (Yorks) has taken the Womens Singles Final after a 4-2 win against Trina Gulliver (Warks).
