Belgian Open 2010 Details

The 29th International Belgian Open Darts Championships will be organised on the 6th-7th-8th August 2010 in Ranst (near Antwerp).
Entries for this event close on Sunday 1st August 2010! After this date no entries for the singles are accepted. If you want to participate at the singles, you have time till 1st August to enter through the online entry form at www.bdbdarts.be
The Belgian Open will be held – just as last year – in the Community Centre Den Boomgaard, Antwerpsesteenweg 57, 2520 Broechem-Ranst. The venue is only 15 km from the centre of Antwerp, where you can find accommodation at any price.

2010 Belgium Open Details

The 29th International Belgian Open Darts Championships will be organised on the 6th-7th-8th August 2010 in Ranst (near Antwerp).
This event will be held for the second successive year at Den Boomgaard, Antwerpsesteenweg 57, 2520 Broechem-Ranst. The venue is only 15 km from the centre of Antwerp, where you can find accommodation at any price.

On Friday 6th August 2010 there will be a singles warming up tournament with entry on the spot till 7pm. The tournament begins at 7.30pm and there will be played in 5 categories: ladies, men’s, girls, boys and young boys (if enough entries).

2010 Fantasy League Darts!

The premier Fantasy League Darts (FLD) competition is back for 2010 and it is bigger and better than before!
For the first time ever you can manage a squad of PDC and BDO players side by side. It looks like the unification of darts is still some time away so DartsMad.com has unified darts for you!
Based on our exclusive Unified World Darts Ranking (UWDR) system, the 2010 FLD competition will award points to players from both sides of the divide, based on our UWDR points structure.

International Double for England

England’s men and women both cruised to the titles in the BDO British Internationals held at Bridlington Spa at the weekend.
For the men it was a retention of their title with comfortable wins over Wales and Scotland. The ladies reclaimed the title they lost to Wales last year by also winning both their matches against Wales and Scotland.
The best performances of the weekend came from England’s Stephen Bunting who fired a near 107 average in beating Scotland’s Ernest Brown. On the ladies side it was Wales’s Rhian Edwards who hit a great 92 average to see off England’s Trina Gulliver on Saturday.

Watch The BDO British Internationals This Weekend

The 2010 BDO British Internationals takes place this weekend (10th-11th April) at The Spa in Bridlington and you can watch all the action from the comfort of your front room.
DartsMad.com, in association with 110Sport.tv, will be bringing you live exclusive streaming of this established BDO international darts tournament.
The BDO British Internationals is a battle between the home countries of England, Scotland & Wales and is one of the highlights of the BDO calendar, a chance for a select few players to pull on their national colours and represent their country.
This weekend will be the first of eight exclusive events to be streamed over the internet during 2010, bringing darts to a worldwide audience.

Unified World Darts Ranking Mar 2010

There was no movement in the Top 10 this month so it’s as you were. Outside the Top 10 there were a few players who jumped a few places to improve their position.
This month’s biggest movers were all new entries – Jean-Paul van Acker crashed in at position 208 with 184 points, Roy Gokoel went in at 229 with 144 points, and Nick Fulwell went in at 285 with 94 points.
Further up the table there were big moves for Dave Prins who leapt 24 places to 30th, Joey ten Berge who moved up 10 places to 24th, and John Henderson who’s 8 place improvement lifts the big Scot to 15th.
Henny van der Ster and Fabian Roosenbrand have both cracked the Top 100, while Jan van der Rassel’s 40 place rise sees him sit just outside in 102nd position.
This month’s fall guys are Ted Hankey (down a couple of places to 17th), Mark Webster, Martin Atkins & Co Stompe who all lose a few places and fall to positions 33, 34 & 35.
Barrie Bates’ Players Championship success brought him valuable points that lift the Welshman 15 places to 65th. Bates will be looking to move back into the upper echelons of the UWDR after a dip in form recently, partly due to injury.

Unified World Darts Ranking Feb 2010

After the furore of the festive period and the two World Championships has died down, February is a more sedate time of year as we all catch our breath. Not if you play the circuit though! The tour continues apace and the UWDR combines the action on both sides of the divide to give you a joined up view of the current darting hierarchy.
PDC players jetted off to Gibraltar in early February for two Players Championship events with Colin Lloyd and Denis Ovens bringing home the bacon. Lloyd’s win pushed him up a couple of places to 18th and Ovens jumped 5 places to number 43 on the back of his first title for some time.
This was followed later in the month by events in Swindon and Derby. Mervyn King bagged a Swindon double, winning the Players Championship event and the UK Open Qualifier, and in the process consolidating his lofty UWDR position of 6th. King has truly cemented his status as one of top PDC pros and has fully realised the undoubted potential that he showed when playing under the BDO banner. Future world champion perhaps?

2010 Antwerp Open Details

During the weekend of 2nd-3rd-4th April 2010 the 23rd edition of the International Darts Tournament ‘Datadart Antwerp Open’ will be held in the Bloso-center Netepark in Herentals.
The Antwerp Open, with a prize fund of 18.700 euro is part of the International Darts Tour of the Lowlands is played under the auspices of the Belgian Darts Bond and the rules of the International Darts Tour of the Lowlands.
The ladies and men’s singles count towards the ranking tables of the WDF, BDO, Zuiderduin Masters and the International Darts Tour of the Lowlands. The singles winners receive a place for the Winmau World Masters and the winner of the ladies and men also receive an invite for the Qualifiers of the Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships.

New Dawn For PDC

PDC LAUNCHES PDC WORLD CUP, PDC UNICORN UNDER-21 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP & PDC UNICORN WOMENS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Following the decision, by a majority vote, of the BDO County Associations not to agree to discuss the detail of the PDC’s offer to acquire the British Darts Organisation nor to grant the PDC access to its books of accounts in order for normal due diligence to be carried out the Board of the PDC can issue the following statement:
The Board of the PDC find the decision of the BDO County Associations not to engage in discussions as to how to distribute the PDC’s proposed cash injection of £2m into amateur darts contrary to the best interests of the membership they represent.
Nevertheless the PDC Board has accepted this decision and intends to move on with its plans for the expansion of the professional game of darts offering all players the opportunity to compete with the elite of world darts for prize money at a level never before experienced.

Both poker and darts are highly popular pursuits. The games are available online, in fact, that there are organizations dedicated to making sure the rules of video poker and online darts are conformed. Similar to darts having the World Darts Federation, among others, and poker has the Tournament Directors Association. These rules are put into place in highly competitive tournaments, in which as many as hundreds or even thousands of people compete for cash prizes as well as prestige.
