BDO Winmau British Classic & EDO Masters Combine at Ricoh Arena

The Ricoh Arena, Coventry will host a unique collaboration between the British Darts Organisation (BDO) and the England Darts Organisation (EDO) which will produce an exciting long-weekend of darts from Friday, July 13th to Sunday, July 15th.
The mouth-watering line-up will combine two major events on the darts calendar – the WINMAU BDO BRITISH CLASSIC and the EDO ENGLAND MASTERS.
Both events will feature Men’s and Women’s events carrying valuable ranking points.
In addition, the stunning Grosvenor Casino will be the venue for the finals of the first ever EDO Grosvenor Grand Prix of Darts played in eleven nationwide venues.
It is a major move forward by the BDO and EDO who are joining forces for the first time, and for the general public there is an additional bonus, because entry to all events at the Ricoh Arena will be free!

Fantasy League Darts 2012 – Play to Win The Big Cash Prizes!

Yes, it’s that time again! Now in its fourth successive year FLD 2012 is longer in duration and will see the competition take in more tournaments, and offer more chances to win with our Manager of the Month supplementary prizes.
The overall winners big cash prize hinges on the number of entries but we guarantee a minimum £500 prize fund, for your information the 2011 competition offered £500 for the winner, with £100 and £50 for second and third respectively. All for the measly entry price of £3.50; as always those with shallower pockets can play for fun, but remember to win the cash you have to be a fully paid up member of Fantasy League Darts.

2012 Antwerp Open April Weekend Cancelled

Please see a note from the organiser, we hope that an alternative date and venue can be found for this 25th edition.
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
At our regret we have to announce that the 25th edition of the International Darts Tournament Antwerp Open, will not take place during the weekend of 28th-29th April 2012.
Due to non-availability of the previous venue and nevertheless we have tried to find a decent and available alternative but did not succeed, we were forced to make this decision.
We will do our utmost best to present you later this year the 25thAntwerp Open. An edition that needs to be a also for us a special one, but certainly for the players who participate year in an year out, and we cannot be satisfied with a smaller of worse venue.

The Harlow Darts Grand Prix at The Venue, Harlow Stadium

Here is an interesting idea from Gary and the team at GB Darts Promotions, a series of Grand Prix and Open darts tournaments over the course of 2012, culminating in a Grand Final where the top 64 players from the 
Order of merit and 8 wildcards compete for the extra special first prize. What’s so special about it? Well the eventual winner will recieve sponsorship to play either the BDO or PDC Circuit in 2013.
At the time of writing it is unclear what this level of sponsorship will be, and those who elect to take on the PDC boys will have to go through Q School if they are not already a tour card holder or PDPA associate member. Still it’s a great opportunity, and each individual event has a decent prize pool so tungsten excellence will be rewarded throughout the year. Read the rest of this entry »

Lakeside 2012 Christian Kist is The BDO Darts World Champion

Mens Final Result
Congratulations to the new 2012 Lakeside World Champion Christian Kist, the trophy heads back to Holland for the first time since Jelle Klaasen won the event in 2006.
At 6-2 ahead the Dutchman looked to be cruising to victory, however O’Shea drew on 11 years of Lakeside experience, going for broke he clawed it back to 4-6 to make a game of it, and Kist something to think about.
And perhaps he did, Kist proceeded to miss both doubles and big numbers allowing the Silverback to take the eleventh set without reply, including a brilliant 116 checkout under pressure in the third leg.
The 25 year old debutant hit back though in the twelth and final set, reeling of 2 quick legs and eventually taking out double 16 for the match, the £100k cheque, trophy and title of Lakeside 2012 Champion.

Both poker and darts are highly popular pursuits. The games are available online, in fact, that there are organizations dedicated to making sure the rules of video poker and online darts are conformed. Similar to darts having the World Darts Federation, among others, and poker has the Tournament Directors Association.
