2012 PDC Darts World Matchplay Ticket Information

TICKETS for the 2012 World Matchplay will go on sale on Monday January 30 to LIVEPDC.TV Annual Subscribers and on General Sale on Monday February 6.
The 2012 World Matchplay will be held at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens from July 21-29 and screened live on Sky Sports HD – featuring 32 top players competing for £400,000 in prize money.
The tournament, won 12 times by current champion Phil Taylor, has proven the summer’s most popular event as fans flock to the famous Empress Ballroom inside the Winter Gardens complex.
LIVEPDC.TV Annual Subscribers with a valid subscription at midnight on Wednesday January 25 2012 will be eligible to purchase tickets in the Priority Sales period, which begins at 9am on Monday January 30. Read the rest of this entry »

Adrian Lewis v Martin Adams in Wolverhampton

The biggest match in darts today is coming to Wolverhampton as Adrian Lewis prepares to take on Martin Adams in a special exhibition.
It’s world champion versus world champion as reigning PDC title holder ‘Jackpot’ Lewis takes on BDO counterpart Martin Adams at the Cleveland Arms pub, Stowheath Lane, on Wednesday September 14.
The two global kings will display their trophies and play each other in a best of 19, first to 10 leg contest, to decide the ‘undisputed’ world champion.
They operate on completely different sides of the fence, as Adams is a staunch BDO supporter and has vowed never to cross over to the PDC.
‘Wolfie’ has even turned down flat an invitation to Wolverhampton’s Grand Slam, a PDC event where BDO players are invited, every year since its inception in 2007.
Lewis and Adams will also play six punters each on the night with 11 drawn at random by their ticket numbers and the other spot to be auctioned on the night.
There will also be the opportunity for fans to have their pictures taken with the world champions and their trophies.
Tickets for the night are £15 each or four for £50 and can be purchased by calling 01902 451 021.

2011 UK Open Last 16 Results

Paul Nicholson powered past Phil Taylor in a final leg thriller against the throw, despite at one stage being 4 legs clear of the 15 times World Champion (and reigning UK Open Champ). Entering the break at 3-7 in arrears Taylor came back to square the match at 8-8, however in the tense final leg it was The Asset who held his nerve as Taylor failed twice to exceed a score of 50 with his three darts.
In his first televised tournament since having laser eye surgery, Nicholson had earlier staged a comeback of his own as he knocked out the newly crowned Premier League Champion Gary Anderson, in another last leg shootout. With a quarter final meeting with James Wade, should The Asset go on to win the title, nobody could argue about the quality of his opposition en-route.
James Wade seemingly enjoying his darts for a change, edged out the Prince of Wales, Richie Burnett 9-7. Burnett the 1995 Embassy World Champion seems to have found some form of late and hopefully we will be seeing a lot more of him as he continues his resurgence. Wes Newton demolished Raymond van Barneveld 9-1, in a confident performance that those in the know have always been convinced he is capable of. A 100 average for the man from Fleetwood on the big stage facilitates a quarter final clash with Dave Chisnall. Read the rest of this entry »

2008 PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts Lineup

ADRIAN LEWIS and Alan Tabern have claimed the final two places in the PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts.
Lewis’ run to the final of the PartyPoker.net European Championship on Sunday saw him earn automatic qualification for the tournament, held from November 15-23 at the Wolverhampton Civic.

PartyPoker.com Pro-Celebrity Challenge Draw

ENGLAND footballer Neil Ruddock will partner Phil Taylor in the PartyPoker.com Pro-Celebrity Challenge on Friday November 14.
The Pro-Celebrity Challenge will see eight celebrities team up with eight of the top names in world darts at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall ahead of the start of the PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts.

TICKETS for the 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts go on sale on Monday – with promoters expecting a rush as fans look to secure their seat at Britain’s hottest indoor sporting event.
The Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts has become the country’s biggest indoor sports event since its inception in 2005 – with 8,000 fans watching the action in Liverpool last year.
