Antwerp Open 2012 – Closing entries

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September 2012, the 25th edition of the International Darts Tournament Antwerp Open will take place. A prize fund of 17.500 euro will be divided at the Bloso Center Netepark in Herentals.
Attention! Entries close on Monday 3rd September 2012!
Singles are counting towards the ranking of the World Darts Federation, category 1 for the men, category 3 for the ladies and also boys and girls youth are rewarded points from the WDF. The winners of the singles receive an invite for the Winmau World Masters 2013 and the ladies and men’s champion also will be invited for the Qualifyers of the Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships. Ladies and Men singles also count towards the invitational tables of the British Darts Organisation (category A for the men and category B for the ladies), the Zuiderduin Masters and the International Belgium Darts Tour rankings. Robbie Green & Trina Gulliver Take 2012 Belgium Open Titles

The 31st Winmau Belgium Open took place this weekend (August 3rd – 5th). The Winmau Belgium Open is one of the largest open darts tournaments in Europe with a great atmosphere and with full ranking points at stake, those on the road to Lakeside were there to secure valuable points.
The was held for a fourth consecutive year at the ‘Den Boomgaard’, Antwerpsesteenweg 57 at Broechem – Ranst. The Belgium Open is one of 4 tournaments that are part of the International Belgium Darts Tour (IBDT) – http://www.internationalbelgiumdartstour.be
Saturday’s singles events carried qualification for the Winmau World Masters.

2012 Belgian Open Details
A message from the organiser……
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
From Friday 3rd till Sunday 5th August 2012 the Belgian Darts Federation organises for the 31st time the Belgian Open Darts. The Community Centre ‘Den Boomgaard’, Antwerpsesteenweg 57 in Broechem, Ranst will host this for the 4th time.
An overview of the different events to be played.
Friday 3rd August 2012 at 2pm the final tournament of the International Belgium Darts Tour will be played. The first 32 men and first 8 ladies of the ranking of previous season will play in groups.
At 8pm the warming-up tournament for ladies, girls, boys, young boys and men will be held. Entry on the spot till 7.30pm. Read the rest of this entry »

The Jersey Festival of Darts is Back for 2012

The Jersey Festival of darts was once regarded as one of the most important most anticipated events in the BDO calendar. First organised in the early nineteen eighties the festival quickly became an annual pilgrimage for hundreds of darts enthusiasts and all the top players of the day would regularly attend.
Darts players and fans alike will therefore be pleased to learn that the event has been resurrected by Howard Miller for 2012, the £23,000 darts festival will take place between 14-17 November 2012 at the Merton Hotel.
2012 will be the 18th staging of the Jersey Darts Festival, the previous 17 festivals have been contested by the likes of Phil Taylor, Mike Gregory, Peter Evison, Dennis Priestly, Leighton Rees, Alan Evans, Eric Bristow, John Lowe, Bob Anderson.
“Always one of my favourite events and I have so many wonderful memories of the place, the fact that it is back is great news for darts enthusiasts, especially with Howard promoting it, lets hope like years gone by that this too runs for the next twenty years” Eric Bristow
The 2012 event is likely to attract the big names in the modern BDO game, with the noticeable exception of Martin ‘Wolfie’ Adams who will apparently be sunning himself elsewhere!

2012 German Open Results

Dutchman Geert de Vos won a close encounter with Alan Norris to take the men’s Bulls German Open singles title 3-2. Norris reached the final by defeating Gary Thompson 2-1, whilst de Vos recovered from a first set loss to beat Scott Mitchell 2-1 in the other semi-final.
Scott Waites and Martin Adams were last 16 casualties, losing to Scott Mitchell and Brian de Hoog respectively. A field of 800 men contested the singles event, with the likes of Tony O’Shea, Darren Fitton, Stephen Bunting and Ross Montgomery bowing out at the last 64 stage. Read the rest of this entry »

Parc y Scarlets to Host Second Darts Event in as Many Months

Parc y Scarlets stepped up to the oche to host the inaugural Scarlets Darts Masters on Saturday 21st January when over 2,000 people watched the first ever darts masters tournament held at heart and soul rugby country.
Following hot on the heels of that successful tournament, which saw Phil the Power Taylor win the competition, comes Parc y Scarlets’ second major darts event to be held on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th April 2012.
The British International Darts Championship 2012 – which sees the home nations of Wales, England and Scotland face each other in a fierce competition – returns to Wales for the first time since 2009 and will take place at Parc y Scarlets.
Llanelli’s very own Julie Gore, who won the Winmau World Masters in 2010, will captain the Welsh Ladies with Martin Phillips leading the Men’s team. Read the rest of this entry »

2012 Mariflex Open Results

Martin Adams and Deta Hedman won the mens and ladies 2012 Mariflex Open singles titles at Oud Gastel. In beating Stephen Bunting 3-0 in Sundays mens final, Wolfie gained his first notable title since the Dutch Open back in February 2011. On his run to the final, Bunting overcame tough competition from the likes of BDO World Champion Christian Kist, Jan Dekker and Scott Mitchell.
Deta Hedman, having earlier knocked out ladies World Champion Anastasia Dobromyslova at the semi-final stage, went on to beat Irina Armstrong 2-0 in the ladies final.
Martin Adams also featured in the previous days honours, as he and Ross Montgomery took the mens pairs title in a 5-2 victory over Dennis Kloese and Leon de Geus. But it was Hedman who was the star of the weekend, picking up the ladies and mixed pairs titles for the treble, partnered by Karen Lawmen and Robbie Green respectively.

BDO British Internationals 2012

The Welsh Darts Organisation is staging the annual BDO British Internationals between the national teams (Men and Women) from Wales, England and Scotland from Friday, April 13th (British Youth Internationals) to April 15th at: Parc – y – Scarlets, Pemberton Retail Park, Llanelli, Carmathenshire, SA14 9UZ

2012 Isle of Man International Darts Festival Results

Players from the Netherlands dominated the Isle of Man International Darts Festival with Jeffrey de Graaf and Francis Hoenselaar crowned the new Manx champions.
And it was double Dutch delight for the men from the Netherlands as Jan Dekker took the runners-up spot with Dutch players dominating the Men’s Singles.
Not to be outdone “The Dutch Crown” Francis Hoenselaar collected her fourth Manx title by , defeating England’s Deta Hedman.
More than 500 hopefuls toed the oche at the start of the eagerly awaited Men’s Singles.
Jeffrey de Graaf booked his place in the last four with 11, 14 and 15 dart games, while Wesley Harms produced a brilliant 161 match-winning checkout to beat England’s Martin Atkins. Read the rest of this entry »
