Taylor Retains Emporers Palace South African Masters Title

PHIL TAYLOR defeated John Part 5-2 to retain the Emperors Palace South African Masters title on Sunday night.
Taylor repeated his semi-final performance against Wayne Mardle to pull clear from 2-2 to win 5-2 in the decider and maintain his unbeaten record at the Johannesburg resort.

PDC Stars Aim For South African Masters Title

THE second Emperors Palace South African Masters takes place on Sunday, pitting four of the world’s top players against the best in South Africa.
Phil Taylor, who won last year’s South African Masters, is joined by World Champion John Part, world number three James Wade and Wayne “Hawaii 501″ Mardle in travelling to Johannesburg for the tournament.

Championship League Darts 08 Schedule

THE groups for the inaugural Championship League Darts have been confirmed – with Phil Taylor and James Wade among the players to compete on the opening day of the new event.
The new tournament, staged at Crondon Park Golf Club in Essex, will see players compete in eight-man groups on eight days throughout September and October, with the league winners then progressing to the Winners Group on Thursday October 23.

North American Darts Championship

YOUNG CLAIMS INAUGURAL TITLE
DARIN YOUNG claimed the biggest title of his career with an 8-7 win over Brad Wethington in the final of the inaugural North American Darts Championship.
Young edged a final leg thriller to pick up the $15,000 first prize at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, with Wethington missing two darts for victory before the Pennsylvania star took the decider in 13 darts.

Antwerp Darts Trophy

PHIL TAYLOR won his sixth successive PDC Pro Tour event with a 3-0 defeat of Andy Smith in the final of Saturday’s Antwerp Darts Trophy.
Taylor is now unbeaten away from the television cameras for a month after continuing his brilliant run of form in Belgium.

Bobby Bourne Memorial

PHIL TAYLOR won the Bobby Bourn Memorial Players Championship for a sixth successive year with a whitewash of Ronnie Baxter in the final at the Winter Gardens.
Taylor warmed up in style for the Stan James World Matchplay with a stunning display of darts in Blackpool.

Championship of Darts Launched

The Professional Darts Corporation and Perform, the digital sports specialists, have launched the Championship of Darts – the first ever darts tournament to be solely broadcast on and funded by internet distribution.
In a world first for darts, all aspects of the tournament, which will take place in September and October, will be optimised specifically for an internet and betting audience, with matches scheduled between 11am and 9pm to maximise both workplace and home viewing.

Open Holland Masters

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD picked up his first PDC Pro Tour victory of 2008 at the Amsterdam Casino Open Holland Masters.
The Dutchman defeated Colin Osborne in straight sets in the final of the event in Schiedam to pick up the £5,000 first prize.

West Tyrone Open

MCDINE WINS WEST TYRONE OPEN 2008
KEVIN McDINE won the West Tyrone Open on Sunday, defeating Kevin Painter 7-4 in the final.
McDine picked up £2,000 for winning the non-ranked tournament, and did it the hard way in the latter stages.

John McEvoy Gold Dart Classic

THE John McEvoy Gold Dart Classic PDC Pro Tour event will be played at Ireland’s National Events Centre in Killarney on 4 November.
The £20,000 event will be the centrepiece of the 2007 Killarney Darts Festival, with players resident in the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland able to enter in two ways.

Both poker and darts are highly popular pursuits. The games are available online, in fact, that there are organizations dedicated to making sure the rules of video poker and online darts are conformed. Similar to darts having the World Darts Federation, among others, and poker has the Tournament Directors Association. These rules are put into place in highly competitive tournaments, in which as many as hundreds or even thousands of people compete for cash prizes as well as prestige.
