Stephen Bunting Wins the 2012 Zuiderduin Masters

Winmau World Masters champion Stephen Bunting added another major title to his list of achievements in 2012; The Bullet defeated Alan Norris 5 sets to nil (3-2 3-2 3-1 3-0 3-1) to lift the Zuiderduin Masters trophy having earlier eliminated Scott Mitchell and Remco Eijden in the semi-finals and quarter finals respectively.
Norris overcame Rick Hofstra and Ross Montgomery in his journey to the final and registered a 112 3 dart average during the group stages and two 170 check outs in the tournament, one in the group stage with the second coming in the final against Bunting.
Martin Adams, Darryl Fitton and reigning Lakeside World Champion Christian Kist were all dumped out at the group stage.
The ladies and youth titles were won by Lakeside champion Anastasia Dobromyslova and Quin Wester from Apeldoorn with Anastasia defeating 2011 runner up Aileen de Graaf 2-1 in the ladies final. Read the rest of this entry »

2012 Zuiderduin Masters Draw

O’Shea, Fitton and Green Drawn in Pool E, Lakeside Champion Kist Faces Harms in Pool D
The draw for the 2012 has been made in Hotel Zuiderduin, Egmond aan Zee.
The tournament will be played from December 7th to 9th and starts with group matches. There are 8 groups of three players for the men, with a seeded player from the Zuiderduin Masters rankings at the head.
For the women and youth events there are two groups of three players each. The first two ladies in the Zuiderduin Masters rankings are seeded as head of a group.

Waites & Hedman Win 2011 Zuiderduin Masters

Scott Waites and Deta Hedman have been crowned 2011 Men’s and Women’s Zuiderduin Masters Champions.
Scott’s final against Darryl Fitton was a true classic of high-scoring darts, great excitement and huge drama. It was the longest final in Zuiderduin Masters history and finished 5-4 in Scott’s favour. It also produced an incredible 31 x 180′s!
On the way to his latest title, Scott narrowly missed a 9-darter, and it was so close between the two players that Darryl added to the drama by missing two match darts!
Quite simply, it was a superb and closely fought final between two in-form players who now have their sights firmly focused on the 2012 Lakeside World Professional next month.
In the Men’s Semi-Finals, Scott beat Martin Adams in another great match that went to a tie-break before Scott won 3-2.
In the other Semi-Final, Darryl beat Ross Montgomery 3-1.
The women’s Semi-Finals saw Aileen de Graaf triumph 4-1 over Irina Armstrong, while the in-form Deta Hedman beat Anastasia Dobromyslova 4-1.
The final was yet another triumph for Deta Hedman, who added to her long list of 2011 titles with a 2-0 win over Aileen de Graaf. She is now looking forward to the Lakeside Women’s World Championship and challenging for the one title that has eluded her so far.
Not to be outdone, the Youth Final also produced outstanding darts, with the meteoric talent of Jimmy Hendriks triumphing 2-1 over another talented youngster, Mike Zuydwijk.

Zuiderduin Masters 2011

Top seed Dean Winstanley will be looking to carry his GSoD form through to the Hotel Zuiderduin in December where he will compete in the Zuiderduin Masters, held from December 9th to 11th, 2011.
The Men’s contest will commence with a Round Robin stage of 8 groups of 3 players. Each group has a seeded player and the two unseeded players will play the opening matches on Friday, December 9th. The seeded player comes into the action on Saturday, December 10th.
Wildcard Scott Waites has a tough looking group containing No. 2 seed Gary Robson, should he get past Geert de Vos, whilst Wolfie has a potential group winner decider against Tony O’Shea.

Ross is the Dutch Boss

Ross Montgomery wins the 2010 Zuiderduin Masters
Montgomery overcame Robbie Green 5-4 in a tight final to clinch the Dutch trophy. He had earlier taken out Tony O’Shea and Stuart Kellett after topping his group with a 100% record.
Robbie Green also won his group with 2 wins from 2 and then went on to see off Gary Robson and Martin Adams before narrowly falling at the last.
Trina Gulliver beat Francisca Hoenselaar 2-1 in the ladies final and Jimmy Hendriks won the youth final with a 3-0 defeat of Ricky de Vos.

Zuiderduin Masters 2010 Details

England’s Ted “The Count” Hankey has been given the final wildcard for the Zuiderduin Masters which will be played in Egmond aan Zee 11-12 December.
The draw for the event is expected next week. Eight groups of three players will play a Round Robin Format in the opening stages of the men’s event. There will be one seeded player drawn in each group based on the Zuiderduim Masters Ranking Tables. The group seeds are as follows:
Group A: Ross Montgomery (Seed 1)
Group B: Scott Mitchell (Seed 8)
Group C: Alan Norris (Seed 5)
Group D: Garry Thompson (Seed 4)

Karin Krappen has been named as the first of the ladies to be given a wildcard for the Zuiderduin Masters which will be played in Egmond aan Zee.
Karin has been given the wildcard based on her aggregate positions in WDF and BDO ranking tables and the fact she is currently Nr. 1 in the NDB rankings.
The Zuiderduin Masters will be played on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th December in Egmond aan Zee, the Netherlands, and is a major event for the best 24 men players and best 8 women of the WDF/BDO circuit.
