Below is information  in respect of a new tournament – The Winmau BDO Wolverhampton Open. The event costs just £10 to enter and takes place on Saturday 24 August.

Winmau, the British Darts Organisation and the Wolverhampton Sports Arena are launching the inaugural Winmau BDO Wolverhampton Open with a prize fund of £3,000 at The Winmau Dart Centre in the Wolverhampton Sports Arena.

Winmau BDO Wolverhampton Open Prize Breakdown

  • 1st – £1000
  • 2nd – £500
  • Losing Semis – £250
  • Losing Quarters – £125
  • Losing Last 16  – £50
  • Highest Checkout – £100

In addition to the prize money, the winner will be entered into the play-offs for the 2013 Winmau World Masters and 2014 Lakeside World Championship.

Dharam Jagpal of the Wolverhampton Sports Arena says: “We’ve had an amazing success story with our Winmau Darts Centre Monday Night League and wanted to continue our expansion of darts by introducing  a major tournament in the BDO calendar.

We have just entered into a partnership with Winmau that sees them sponsor our Darts Centre, the Monday Night League and this fantastic new tournament. We are looking to run more leagues and competitions and to take darts to another level with our partnership with Winmau and the BDO.”
