Keith Deller Beats Fastest leg of 301 Record

To kick off the Great British Beer Festival at Olympia on Tuesday afternoon, darts legends Eric Bristow and Keith Deller attempted to break pub legend Dean Gould’s 36 second World Record 301.

Deller smashed Gould’s record by 11 seconds as shown in the Daily Mirror video below, after Gould had earlier managed to shave 3 seconds off his previous best.

No stranger to the record books, Deller was the Youngest player to win the Embassy World Championship back in 1983 and hit 3 x 301 legs of darts in 97 seconds the following year. He can also boast the first 100+ match average in 1985, albeit in defeat at the hand of John Lowe.

Set up by festival organisers CAMRA, Bristow and Deller’s appearance was aimed to show the importance of pub games in the constant fight to save Britain’s valued community pubs from the problems they have faced over the past few years.
