Here we go again! Exactly the same but different. After a spellbinding fortnight at the Ally Pally it’s over to the Lakeside, the home of world darts.

As Martin Fitzmaurice utters the iconic phrase “let’s play darts”! for the first time today, 32 players will be hoping & wishing for a peak in form at just the right time to have a chance of scooping the first prize of £100,000.

It’s a great way to kick off the new year and we are really looking forward to another feast of darts. We will once again be bringing you our great tipping service so tune in each day for the hottest bets we can find. Speaking of which…

CHRISTIAN KIST has taken much of the year off since winning last year’s world title so he doesn’t seem the man of 12 months ago. Meanwhile ROBBIE GREEN is rather hit and miss so we will go Under 7.5 180s @ 11/10 with Paddy Power (2pts)

GARY ROBSON V GARRY THOMPSON is a match which I believe to be closely matched. It’s a tough one to call the winner so ROBSON to hit the highest finish is my bet @ 4/5 with Corals (2pts)

RICHIE GEORGE is looking impressive and is on the up of late so a win against DAVE PRINS is my bet @ 4/5 with William Hill (2pts)

That’s the afternoon sorted so let’s take a look at the evening session…

This evening games start with an out of sorts DARRYL FITTON playing BENITO VAN DE PAS and the the most 180s looks massive on Van De Pas so the bet is VAN DE PAS most 180s @ 5/2 with Coral (2pts)

ALAN NORRIS v WAYNE WARREN. Mr Norris is my big outright bet E/W at 20’s to give us a run for our money pre-tournament. I’m also reckoning he can give a 1.5 start to the impressive WAYNE WARREN, who has had a really good 2012. But, Norris to come out on top giving WARREN a 1.5 start is my bet. NORRIS minus 1.5 @ 8/11 with Bet365 (3pts)

TONY O’SHEA V JOHN WALTON. I have seen a fair bit of both players and I can’t see anything other than a TONY O’SHEA victory. There are two good bets here for me:-

TONY O’SHEA highest checkout @ 4/7 with Paddy Power (4pts) & TONY O’SHEA minus 1.5 handicap @ 8/11 with Paddy Power (2pts)
