Mark Hylton reached his goal of playing the highest level professional darts after being spotted playing in local open darts events during 2009.

3 years later and Mark has been looking to put something back into the sport he loves and that has given him such tremendous opportunities and enjoyment. With the support of his sponsors and management team he has been looking to assist two distinct groups of darters.

Firstly, Mark wanted to give others a chance to sample the world he now competes in. Putting on an open seemed an appropriate way of doing so. Then the notion of “Find A Pro” took hold.

The event will take place as part of The Day of Darts 2012 at The Jubilee Club nr Newcastle Under Lyme on December 8th 2012. It will be best of 11 legs as is The Pro Tour and is only £7 to enter.

Since first announcing this idea it is fair to say the response has been superb. Several of Mark’s sponsors and other companies have added to the original prize. Thus, what was a chance to sample the PDC is fast becoming a highly valued offer!

“The Winner” will receive : The “Mile High” Trophy, Special Edition Shirt, Q School Entry, 4 UK Open Qualifier Entries, PDPA & Grand Slam Wildcard Qualifier Entry, Winners Web Site & Hosting, Pro Board on and 2 Exhibition Appearances over the year.

Mark’s management team will also assist with gaining further support and expanding the opportunities wherever possible.

“The Winner” will have to fulfil a few professional obligations, such as wearing the special shirt for events and returning 10% of professional winnings (max £500) towards “Find A Pro” 2013, in addition to those required by the PDC.

“Mile High” is delighted with such a response and hopes to see another lesser known player like himself, take advantage of the chance to compete with the big names. He will offer support and/or practice to the winner and is looking forward to the establishment of an annual “Mile High” “Find A Pro” trophy.

Full details and the expectation of all parties are available on -

Those aged over 14 and having never played senior PDC darts (excluding Q School & UK Open). Never having been ranked 33 or above in BDO, IDF or PDC. Finally, never been past the last 16 of any major BDO, IDF, PDC event, will be eligible.

This mirrors Mark’s situation when spotted in 2009.

So there you have it, very soon we will be announcing Marks 2nd initiative to give something back to the game he loves, this time the aim is to get more and more young people playing the game and enjoying as well as gaining from darts.
