We made a slight gain last week and aim to add to the cumulative total in week 11. We preview two games this week!

Lockup TipsterMvG Vs Taylor (10-1-20)

This game, played back in week one saw the only whitewash of the season,  but Phil has since beaten Michael at a players tour event.

The power holds 20 wins to van Gerwen’s 10. The pair traded victories in events last year, with Taylor winning in Sydney, the UK Open and the World Championships, not to mention Championship darts.

MvG came out on top at the Grand Slam and Premier League Final last year to name two and has averaged 102.13 compared to Taylor’s 100.92 three dart average. Taylor has averaged just 2.3 maximums compared to 3.6 from the dutchman.

Taylor’s form has been up and down he is not out the woods yet, van Gerwen has suffered just one defeat and expect the 13/10 at Boylesports to be well backed.

MvG is solid 1/2 to not be beaten with a variety of firms.

Thornton Vs Barney (1-2-7)

Thornton comes off the back of a players tour win at the weekend – beating Taylor en route to pocketing the title. Barney won both matches last week. Thornton has had bad luck in the head to heads, but the pair drew in their last Premier League encounter.

In ten weeks Barney has played eleven games; yet has been defeated just once. Thornton should have enough support to aid his quest of a win and can be backed around 2/1 for the match.

Barney has an excellent record at Aberdeen, especially hitting a 9 darter there and is 33/1 with Coral to repeat history and 25/1 with Bet365 to see either player hit a perfect leg.

Thornton has averaged just under 95 this season, with Barney averaging 97.29. Barney has averaged 3.5 maximums with 3.4 in the bag for Thornton. Bookies have this covered offering as short as 4/7 for six or less maximums and 5/4 for the latter.

The trend here is that all bar one game dating back to 2011 have gone overs on the legs (9.5 for best of 11) and other tourneys have seen games won by a two single legs.

The pair had a thriller at Decembers players championship finals:

And you can relive their other PL game earlier this season here:

The bet for the evening could well be the highest checkout with Barney hitting a high checkout in three of the last four weeks and is 5/6 to hit a 104 or greater checkout

The bookies have Barney’s averaged covered. With Thornton’s average 180s at 3.4, spreadex offer 11/8 on four or more, with the home fans is a tempting bet.
