We had a bad week last week, but aim to rebound with a couple of value bets.

darts bettingQuick recap on last week:

  • Most 180s – Lewis
  • Highest Checkout – Anderson
  • Highest average – Phil Taylor

Week 12 fixtures:

  • Thornton Vs Wright (5-1-6) Last six – 2-1-3
  • Anderson Vs Taylor (8-2-24) Last six – 2-0-4
  • Barney Vs Lewis (22-2-11) Last six – 4-0-2
  • MVG Vs Chisnall – (9-0-5) Last six – 4-0-2
  • Anderson Vs Thornton  (12-1-10) Last six 2-0-4

Thornton Vs Wright (5-1-6) Last six – 2-1-3

The head to head is practically neck and neck, with the pair bagging their only draw in the Premier League last month. Thornton is 15/8 with the draw at 4/1 and Wright at evens. Thornton has possibly run out of games now to make top four and nothing more than a win will suffice to keep any hopes alive. Wright has seen his standard slip recently – dropping to third in a short space of time.

Five of the last six meetings have gone over’s on the legs with Wright unbeaten in the last four meetings. Most bookies are between 11/10 -–5/4 for the game to go all 12 legs, which is a little skinny seeing as the draw is 4/1.

Wright has averaged just 2.27 180’s in the competition and can be backed with Skybet at 11/8 with a maximum headstart. Wright did score five last week, with Wright tempting at 2/1 for the spoils. Thornton has struggled lately and has averaged under 95 in the last three weeks. Betway are 17/20 for under 96.50 and we are tempted by this.

Anderson Vs Taylor (8-2-24) Last six – 2-0-4

Taylor was looking good in the German Masters at the weekend and goes in at a 4/7 shot to beat Anderson out at 7/2 and the draw at 9/2.

In the head to head, Taylor has had the edge, although Anderson has won the last two meetings including the last Premier League fixture. Anderson has averaged 2.91 on the 180s compared to Phil’s 2.36 and despite this, Boylesports price under six maximums at 6/5, which is tasty seeing the pair hit five or less between them the last two weeks. Anderson is also worth a go on a race to three legs at 11/8 with Skybet. Anderson is a quick starter, whereas Phil will need to break throw to win this and 8/15 is too short.

Anderson Vs Thornton  (12-1-10) Last six 2-0-4

In the second game of the night, Anderson hopefully will not be suffering from a Taylor hangover regardless of the result. Thornton has had the upper edge on fellow Scot; Anderson winning three of the last four meetings. Anderson is 10/11 with Hills, with Thornton 11/5 and 4/1 the draw. This is a big night for Gary, and Robert knows this. Both players ideally need maximum points in their double headers, but the best could hope for without defeat is 3 points!

We are going on the shorter price of Betway’s bet on both players to win five legs on the basis, after their first games, second games are generally less inspiring and initial games can have an influence  on the second games. Anderson has been in blistering form in the Premier League and believe that he will have the drive and energy to take the points.

  • Thornton – under 96.50 average vs Wright – 17/20 Betway 3 pts
