Bash The Bookies With The Tungsten Tipster’s Darts Betting Tips

Dean Winstanley’s victory over Mervyn King scuppered our double last night, but the Tungsten Tipster still managed to select three wins from 5 in other markets, ensuring we are still showing a profit overall. Today’s picks are detailed below.

World Championship Darts Betting Tips from The Tungsten Tipster

Wednesday 19 December 2012

Three from five yesterday wasn’t too bad when you consider the two losers were Anderson not taking a set from Beaton, which he had darts in the first two sets to do so and Winstanley defeating King where it went all the way with King missing crucial match darts to seal the win.  Points total for yesterday finished on -7.85 however this still gives us a healthy +73.38 for the week so far.

Justin Pipe v Andy Jenkins

Justin Pipe has had a phenomenal two years rising from relatively unknown to number 8 in the World and this hasn’t been by accident, Justin is methodical in his preparation & practice and I know he will have done everything right for this game.  Jenkins qualified in the last spot on the Pro Tour Order of Merit nosing ahead of Dennis Smith & Stuart Kellet by a mere £100.  Jenkins is no mug on the dartboard and is probably one of those handfuls of players out there that never truly achieved their full potential.  Pipe is a huge favourite in this game and there is no value to be had on the outcome but we are recommending the total match 180’s be under 5.5 @5/6 with William Hill as we do not feel there will be too many legs.

Ronnie Baxter v Dennis Priestley

This game, to me, is the most fascinating of the night with Dennis Priestly qualifying for the tournament after missing out on 2012, many thinking he would hang up his darts but has fought back and earned his spot again whilst regaining a bit of the form we all know he is capable of.  Baxter will not be relishing in the fact that he has drawn Dennis as Dennis will not be one to roll over and let him have an easy route to round two.  Ronnie recently made it through to the last 16 of the Players Championship Finals and also made a Semi Final at the World Matchplay back in July.  Head to Head Ronnie edges this 7-4 however they have never met on the TV stage and we all know this is where Dennis shows his grit.  I’ve no doubt this will be a great game however I do think that Ronnie might just edge it but not without a fight from Mr Priestley.  Our recommendation for this game is the over 118.5 check out put up by William Hill @ 5/6.

Colin Lloyd v Darin Young

Colin and Darin have played each other on the Ally Pally stage once before in the 2011 World Championships where Colin was the victor 3-1. Colin seems determined to find the form that saw him win two major titles and will be a hard opponent for anyone this week. I’ve watched Darin play a few times on TV and he never seems to be able to recreate his A game on the big stages.  The American is a great player, and qualifying to the World Championship stage again proves this but Colin Lloyd will have too much for Darintonight and will be totally focussed on getting though to face Mark Webster in the second round.  The recommendation for this game is Lloyd with a -1.5 on the handicap @10/11 with William Hill and Lloyd to have the most 180’s @6/5 with William Hill.

So the bets for today are:

Pipe v Jenkins game to have under 5.5 180’s @5/6 with William Hill (15pts)

Baxter v Priestley game to have a checkout over 118.5 @5/6 with William Hill (10pts)

Lloyd with -1.5 on the handicap @10/11 with William Hill (25pts)

Lloyd to have most 180’s @6/5 with William Hill (20pts)

And the daily double is Lloyd with the 1.5 handicap and Pipe v Jenkins to be under 5.5 180@s (20pts)
