Bash The Bookies With The Tungsten Tipster’s Darts Betting Tips

Our Tungsten Tipster is back! Last time out he guided us through the UK Open and gave us a small overall profit for the tournament if I recall correctly.

Anyway we rested him for the European Championship so what has our revitalised Tipster got up his furry sleeve for Blackpool? That sheepskin coat must be a bit warm in this weather eh?

Darts Betting TipsWorld Matchplay Darts Betting (Points 1-5, 5 points Max Bet)

Well the 20th edition of the World Matchplay starts in Blackpool tonight and I can remember going to watch this tournament many years ago, back then the only way they could get a crowd in was to put the girls outside to give free tickets to the passing tourists!

This obviously gave the illusion of a full venue to those watching on TV! No more though this tournament is always a sell out – how times have changed!

I’ve got a couple of nice 5 point max bets to offer up for the tournament as a whole, van Gerwen is nailed on for the most tournament 180’s you can find that @ 6/4 and a Taylor v van Gerwen final is massive at @ 4/1, equally Taylor to to make the semis @1/2 should be taken. Also worth a try is 3 points on Thornton to win his quarter at 7/2.

First Round Betting Monday 22 July

The weekend’s first round fixtures have given us a tidy 19.25 profit over the first two days including  our 5 point max bet double doing the business yesterday. I’m looking to keep us in profit all week so the coat is off and I’ve rolled my sleeves up to get stuck into tonight’s fixtures (the cap is still on though).

Robert Thornton plays a out of sorts but still very able Ian White this evening, if he turns up White could push the former UK Champion all the way. Therefore my bet is 4 points on Thornton to hit the most 180s @ 10/11.

Wes Newton versus Jamie Caven could well be the match of the first round I’ve checked all the markets and the bookmakers can’t separate them. We are going for Newton to get the highest check out @10/11 and sticking 3 points on it.

I’ve given Lewis some stick in the past, but Jackpot was brilliant winning in Germany a couple of weeks ago and needs to keep the momentum going against big brother Huybrechts who is settling well into PDC life. I’m going for under 9.5 180’s in this match @ 8/11 and 4 points.

Last year’s semi-finalist and local lad Ronnie Baxter is always capable of putting in a performance and in my opinion Hamilton is not on the high he was. I’m going for Baxter on +2.5 handicap @ 10/11 and 4 points again.

I’m signing off with a 3 point double of Thornton most 180′ s and Baxter on the +2.5 handicap.

First Round Betting Sunday 21 July

Last night saw two out of our three bets come in which translates to a 3.75 points profit so not a bad start. There are eight more first round games played over two sessions today so we are spoilt for choice. I’ve sniffed out a few decent looking picks below.

Justin Pipe should out-play an ordinary looking Mark Webster and it’s worth a 5 point max bet @ 4/7.

Painter is a big bet at evens to beat youngster Jamie Lewis on the -2.5 handicap so throw 4 points on it. Similarly Beaton is a must against Dolan on the handicap so take Beaton at +2.5 @4/9 for our second 5 points max bet.

Gary Anderson has gone back to basics so I’ve heard and it will be interesting to see how the new regime works out for him. But my bet is King to have the highest check out at evens and I’m suggestion 3 points here.

Our final single bet is another max in the form of Dave Chisnall 5 points evens to beat Nicholson. I’m certain Chisnall will get the upperhand, so much so I’m also advising a 5 point double for you on Chisnall and Pipe.

First Round Betting Saturday 20 July

We have four games to go at tonight starting with Terry Jenkins v Andy Smith. I’m confident that Jenkins will have a convincing win over his mate and I’m making this my 5 point max bet  @ 4/7.

Next up is Raymond van Barneveld versus Mensur Suljovic. Barney can win this all day long but will he give 5.5 legs away?  I don’t think so therefore I’m going for 3 points handicap +5.5 legs Suljovic @ 4/5.

Whitlock v Klaasen should be a cracking game both players are looking good at the moment and a close one is on the cards in my opinion so my bet is 4 points on the handicap +2.5 legs Klassen @ 5/6.

I can’t find any value in the James Wade v John Part fixture, we are dealing with a nine day tournament so there is absolutely no need to rush in yet. If you really must then under 6.5 180’s @ 4/5 is worth checking out. (If you want to throw caution to the wind we like the look of a 10-6 win for Wade available at 6-1 – DartsMad Ed.)
